On March 20, 2022, the spring tree planting campaign was launched with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The nationwide tree planting campaign is to mark the International Day of Nowruz – the National Spring Holiday, the festival of renewal and prosperity.
It should be emphasised that the Novruz Bayram celebrations illustrate the commitment to centuries-old spiritual traditions, including the care for the native land.
Following the example of the President of Turkmenistan, all participants in the green action planted trees. All ministries, departments, hyakimliks of velayats, etraps and Ashgabat, public organisations, universities, mass media and students took part in the event. Respect for nature has always been a priority of the state policy of Turkmenistan.
In Turkmenistan, much attention is paid to environmental issues, and therefore the annual large-scale tree planting campaigns have become a good tradition in our country.
Such events bring together people who want to contribute to a common important cause.
Millions of deciduous, coniferous and fruit seedlings have been planted during the spring tree planting campaign in the year, the theme of which is «The Era of the People with Arkadag».
