The futsalers of «Denizchi» became the Turkmenistan champion, having won the National Superleague, which was finished in Ashgabat. 8 teames contested in the two-round tournament.
The results of championship were determined in the final round. Having played a draw with «Gumrukchi» – 8:8, «Denizchi» scored 35 points and as a result, it has got one more point than the MIA team «Kopetdag». The club of the State Customs Service «Gumrukchi» is on the third place with 21 points.
Having won the National Superleague, «Denizchi» gained a right to represent Turkmenistan in 2022 for the first time in the AFC Futsal Club Championship – an annual competition held by the Asian Football Confederation.
The futsal club «Denizchi» was founded in 2009 году, in 2011 it has got a status of the professional club.
«Denizchi» has been regularly participating in the Turkmenistan championship since 2009, and at that, it becomes the Turkmenistan champion for the second time. Earlier such success achieved the team of the International Sea Port of Tukmrnbashi in 2015. The 45-aged Yakub Ovezov, being the coach from 2011, brought the club from city on the Caspian Sea to such success. Under his leadership «Denizchi» also won the silver medals (in 2014 and 2018), and three times – the bronze medals (in 2012, 2019 and 2020) of the national championship, and two times won Turkmenistan Cup (in 2016 and 2018) and once participated in the decisive match for the Super Cup of the country (in 2019).
It is noteworthy that four years ago Yakub Ovezov assisted the chief coach Kyohei Nakamura from Japan in his work with the national team of Turkmenistan, which reached quarter-finals at the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
On results of the 2021 Turkmenistan Footsal Superleague, the winners’ coach Yakub Ovezov was awarded the best coach prize, and the goalkeeper of «Denizchi» Meretgeldy Bayramov –the best goalkeeper prize.
Two top goalscorers became Mulkaman Annagulyyev («Kopetdag») and Abdulla Nursahedov («Denizchi»), who scored by 22 goals.
The Fair Play Award was given the team of the Turkmenbashi Oil Refineries Complex.
