Two athletes share gold for the first time in 109 years 

Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar and Gianmarco Tamberi of Italy won a gold medal in the men’s high jump final at the Tokyo Summer Olympics. Two athletes shared the highest award for the first time since 1912.
The 2019 world champion Barshim cleared 2.37 metres. The 30-year-old high jumper won bronze in London 2012 and silver in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Tamberi jumped 2.37 metres. The judges decided not to continue to a jump-off and awarded two gold medals to the athletes.
The silver medal was not awarded, the bronze was awarded to Belarus’s Maksim Nedosekov.
