On July 27-28, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov paid an official visit to our country. Bilateral talks with President of Turkmenistan were held during the visit. Two sides discussed the issues related to strengthening friendly and fraternal relations, to intensifying international cooperation, and signed a number of documents during the talks.

These documents included the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Youth Policy between the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the Action Plan on the Sport Cooperation between the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2021-2024 to implement the Agreement on Cooperation in Sports and Physical Culture signed by the former State Committee for Sports of Turkmenistan and the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on November 11, 2014.

On this occasion, a ceremonial meeting was organized by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan on June 29. At the meeting, speakers highlighted the importance of the official visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic to our country, the agreements and the international documents. Moreover, they discussed the Turkmen-Kyrgyz sports relations, the achievements of the Turkmen athletes at the World Nomad Games held in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2014, 2016 and 2018, as well as the victories of the Kyrgyz athletes at the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in our country in 2017 and their performance and success at other prestigious international sports events.
