The Federation of Tennis of Turkmenistan realises together with the Ministry of Sports and the Youth Policy of the country a number of projects on tennis popularisation. So, during summer vacations at the capital stadium “Ashgabat” the tennis camp for children will be organised.
In the campus young sportsmen can be engaged in a favourite sport under the guidance of qualified trainers, to visit a gym and a swimming pool.
As was told in the Federation, participants will be distributed into separate groups, proceeding from age and preparation. With each of them a separate expert will be engaged. Tennis players will have trainings in thinking that also plays an important role for the professional player.
– When I trained under the guidance of Argentinean Carlos Rodriguez – the trainer of the former first top-rated player of the world Justine Henin, we were trained in special exercises for development of thinking in players, formation of sports mentality in them. It is very useful for sportsmen. Therefore having personal experience, I want to introduce this practice in our country, – the secretary general of the Federation Eziz Dovletov said.
There is good news to schoolboys who only has decided to be engaged in this royal sport. Since the new academic year free tennis clubs will be working.
– The first stage of the project – training of teachers of physical culture of Ashgabat schools in skills of tennis was successfully finished. 13 teachers were trained and received corresponding certificates. Now we want to continue this project, having attracted even more educational institutions, – Dovletov told.
The trainings will be held by coach of the Federation three times a week for one hour. The Federation will give necessary tennis stock – balls, rackets, and portable nets. From the child the desire is required only.

For today the number of registered players in the Federation makes up 865. Each sportsman who makes an application to participation in tournament, has his own card with the identification number, the stored in the Federation. It is necessary to note that at the moment of the beginning of registration of players in 2018 their quantity made up only 200 persons. Figures speak for themselves!
