On December 6, 2019, the draw for the final tournament of the 2020 AFC Futsal Championships took place at the Olympiya Hotel. The final tournament will be played in Ashgabat  between February 26 and March 8, 2020. The matches will be held at the Olympic Town that hosted with great success the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in September 2017.

The 16 teams that qualified for the final tournament are drawn into four groups of four teams. In accordance with the rules, the hosts – Turkmenistan team was waiting for its draw in Pot 1. The teams of Iran, Japan and Uzbekistan were seeded in the same pot, which means that our team will not play with these teams at the group stage.

The draw began – the representatives of the countries participating in the Championships froze in anticipation.

This tournament will serve as a springboard to the World Cup. 3 top teams and 2 runners-up, i.e. 5 teams, deserve to play in the world tournament.  The futsal mundial will be held in Lithuania between September 12 and October 4, 2020.
