A good news came from South Korea. The Turkmen athletes have won medals of the World Sambo Championships in Cheongju. They stood on the podium on the first day of the tournament, which was held at the Soku sports complex.

Our combat sambo wrestler Ahmet Tanryberdyev won a bronze medal in the under 57 kg weight category. He stood on the podium together with the athletes in his weight category: Aleksandr Nesterov from Russia won a gold medal and Serikhan Tussurov from Kazakhstan won a silver medal.

Another combat sambo wrestler from Turkmenistan Charymurat Annagurbanov successfully performed in the bouts and won a bronze medal in the under 100 kg category. He lost to a sambo wrestler Vadim Nemkov from Russia and a sambo wrestler Ilhomjon Yuldashev from Uzbekistan.
