The opening ceremony of the Women’s World Boxing Championships was held in Ulan-Ude, the capital of Buryatia.
Athletes will compete in ten weight categories, five of which are the Olympic categories. The tournament is not a 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualification event.
Ten sets of medals will be competed for at the 11th edition of the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Ulan-Ude.
The competitions that will bring together 227 athletes from 57 countries will take place from 3 to 13 October.
A referee Ishanguly Meretniyazov represents Turkmenistan at the world championships.
