Turkmen kick boxers win 10 medals of World Cup

The X Kickboxing World Cup – World Cup Diamond was held in the city of Anapa, the Russian Federation.

Turkmen kick boxers, upholding the colours of our country in a worthy manner, have brought home medals of the international tournaments many times before. This time, our athletes have enhanced the international prestige of Turkmenistan by winning 10 medals (3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals)

Our three compatriots qualified to the finals in a tough competition. They are Muhammed Altybaev (63,5 kg, low-kick), Hajimurad Geldymamedov (81 kg, low-kick) and Islam Rahmedov (71 kg, low-kick). All three won a victory over their opponents – the hosts of the tournament in the decisive fights, gained gold medals and stood on the highest step of the podium.

Other athletes who represented our Motherland at the international tournament: Gochmurad Jamuniyazov (71 kg, K-1), Aynazar Gylyjov (91 kg, low-kick) and Mekan Begmamedov (54 kg, full contact) demonstrated brilliant individual techniques and won silver medals.

Other athletes coached by the renowned mentor, Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan Aleksandr Shagovskiy: Akmurad Akyev (67 kg, K-1), Merdan Mamedov (75 kg, low-kick),Shohrat Yagmurov (75 kg, low-kick) and Taylymurad Yegeleyev (67 kg, low-kick) stood on the third step of the podium and brought bronze medals to the receptacle of our country.

The WAKO kickboxing tournament in Anapa brought together over 300 athletes from 22 countries of the world.
