A swimmer from Turkmenistan Merdan Ataev won a silver medal of the 10th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships, as reported by www.turkmenportal.com, citing The Times of India.
The tournament was held under the auspices of the Asia Swimming Federation (AASF) in the Indian city of Bangalore, where 2,500 athletes from 35 countries gathered together.
The Turkmen swimmer became a silver medallist in the 50m backstroke event. Merdan Ataev finished in 26.30 seconds, which is 0.48 seconds more than the Turkmenistan record he set at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 2017.
Srihari Nataraj (India) is the winner in the 50-m backstroke event with 25.30 seconds and Kasipat Chograthin (Thailand) ranked third with 26.36 seconds.
