The Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan takes consistent measures to promote this sport; as a result, the number of those who make their choice of tennis is growing. This interest is also fueled by the fact that our tennis players show increasingly remarkable results at international tournaments, which vividly testifies to the enhanced preparedness and sportsmanship of our athletes. These circumstances suggested us the idea of contacting the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan that satisfied our interest by informing us of the work done and the performance of Turkmen tennis players at major tournaments and events since the second half of the year.

The agenda of the meeting covered the objectives and issues related to the organisation of the international tennis tournaments in 2020. Tennis officials emphasised that Turkmenistan had made significant progress in this field in a short period, and the the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan coopereated closely with ITF and ATF.

Performing in the qualifying round of the regional Davis Cup competition in Amman, Jordan, the tennis players from the national team ranked 2nd in their group. They played in singles matches against the tennis players from the Jordan team.

In accordance with the agreement between the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan and the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, the tennis players from Turkmenistan held training sessions in the neighbouring country. On those days, the 14-under tennis players from our team performed in the ATF tournament, in which our young tennis player Mariya Atamuradova qualified for the semi-finals together with an Uzbek tennis player A. The work on the involvement of Turkmen specialists as international umpires of prestigious sports tournaments is underway. For example, a specialist from Turkmenistan Andrey Dolmatov officiated as an umpire in the matches of the ITF 18&U tennis tournament, which was held on the courts in Andijan (Uzbekistan). Delegates from our country, including Jennet Hallyeva who received the status of II Class umpire, took part in an ITF training seminar, which was held in Tehran.

The President of Tajikistan Cup tournament was held in Dushanbe. Turkmen tennis players performed in the tournament at the invitation of the ITF. A Turkmen specialist Andrey Dolmatov officiated the matches of the tournament, and our compatriot Kakajan Bayramgeldyev ranked among the top eight players.
