The Turkmenistan national volleyball team performed in the Asian Central Zone Volleyball Championship, which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Our basketball players defeated their rivals in the preliminaries and qualified for the finals. They played their first match against the team from neighbouring Afghanistan. Our basketball players won 3:0. The Maldives team was our rivals in the match, a victory in which promised us bronze medals. The Turkmen sportsmen followed all recommendations of their coaches and displayed the remarkable will to win. They won a landslide victory 3:0, which allowed them to stand on the 3rd step of the podium.
