The 15th round of the Turkmenistan Higher League football championship got underway on 6 August. The opening match of the round, between «Arkadag» and «Merv», officially marked the start of the third round of the national championship.

The match was played at the Nusaý Stadium in Ashgabat and ended in a convincing 7–0 victory for «Arkadag». The winning side’s goals were scored by Shamammet Hydyrow (35th minute), Didar Durdyýew (40th), Meýlis Diniýew (62nd, 66th), Baýram Ataýew (77th), Arzuwguly Sapargulyýew (82nd) and Yhlas Toýjanow (87th).

The main programme of the 15th round will continue on 7 August with three matches. Particular attention will be focused on the fixtures involving «Ahal» and «Altyn Asyr», who are competing for second place in the standings.

«Altyn Asyr» will face «Ashgabat», while «Ahal» will take on «Köpetdag». In Türkmenbaşy, «Şagadam» will also meet Balkanabat’s «Nebitçi», with the two teams occupying neighbouring positions in the league table.
