Turkmen athletes successfully competed at the international 2026 Karate 1 Youth League tournament held in the capital of the Philippines.

This prestigious competition, organized by the World Karate Federation, brought together approximately 800 athletes from 58 countries.

Rayan Gurbanmyradov, a student at Ashgabat Secondary School No. 52, won the gold medal in junior kumite, competing in the 55 kg weight category.

Alymuhammet Kakalyyev, a 10th-grade student at Ashgabat Secondary School No. 61, competed in the 57 kg kumite cadet weight class, adding a bronze medal to his team's medal collection. Both athletes train with the Turkmenistan national team under the guidance of Aydyn Charyyev, a holder of a 5th Dan black belt.
