On the second day of the Sambo and Combat Sambo World Cup held in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, a Turkmen athlete won a gold medal. In the 64 kg weight category, Sanjarbek Avazberdiyev defeated Kazakhstan’s Serik Shadyar in the final to claim the gold medal.

In the same weight category, Khakberdi Jumayev won a bronze medal. Thus, two Turkmen sambo athletes stood on the podium in the 64 kg division.

In the 58 kg category, Akhmet Tangryberdiyev, and in the 71 kg category, Kerim Kerimov reached the finals and ultimately secured silver medals.

Overall, at the tournament, which brought together around 300 athletes from 21 countries, the Turkmenistan national team won 1 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
