Today, April 7, World Health Day is being widely celebrated. On this occasion, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed his compatriots with a congratulatory message, which states:

I cordially congratulate you on World Health Day, an international holiday celebrating the high humanistic principles of humanity! I am confident that the festivities held during this year, themed "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan: Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses," will enhance our pride in our beloved Motherland, our prosperous and happy life, and the magnificent achievements of our sovereign state!
World Health Day holds a special place in our national calendar, symbolizing the unity and cohesion of our society. The mass sporting, physical culture, and socio-cultural events organized for this occasion bolster the prestige of our powerful state as a land of health and inspiration.
Dear people!
The socio-economic potential and cultural development of independent Turkmenistan are inextricably linked to the happy and prosperous life of our people, as well as their harmonious spiritual and physical growth. Guided by our noble goals and the humane principle "The State is for the Person!" and the motto "The Motherland is only the Motherland with the people! The State is only the State with the people!", we are implementing large-scale transformations across all sectors of the national economy, in science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, and tourism.
By raising the social and living standards of our people and commissioning modern villages, towns, and industrial complexes, we are systematically strengthening our country's position on the global stage.
In the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, we pay special attention to the development of mass physical culture, the Olympic movement, and sports. To this end, we are successfully implementing national programs and comprehensive reforms. Specifically, we are honorably continuing our people's centuries-old traditions of nurturing a physically strong and spiritually rich generation.
In a short period, the country has seen the commissioning of major sports and equestrian complexes, stadiums, sports schools, and an Olympic Village that meet international standards. Along with this, we have achieved great success in constructing medical centers, specialized clinics, and sanatoriums equipped with innovative technologies in Ashgabat, the city of Arkadag and all regions for the well-being of the people.
As a member of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia, our country makes a worthy contribution to the development of the international Olympic movement. Utilizing its sporting potential for the sake of peace and friendship, Turkmenistan systematically strengthens cooperation with the international community. The hosting of major competitions, including the Asian Games, continental championships and world championships, has demonstrated the immense sporting potential of our Motherland.
Within the framework of the comprehensive long-term and strategic state policy founded by the Hero-Arkadag, and at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a historic Resolution declaring June 3 as World Bicycle Day. Furthermore, the Resolution "Integration of Mass Cycling into Public Transport Systems for Sustainable Development" was unanimously adopted, and Turkmenistan was elected to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport for 2023–2027. These milestones have filled the hearts of our compatriots with immense pride.
Additionally, the adoption of the Resolution "United Nations Games" at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the proclamation of Ashgabat as the City of New Sports Opportunities of the Commonwealth at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, and the designation of the Olympic Village Tennis Complex as the Tennis Training Center of the Asian Region by the Asian Tennis Federation all testify to the successful implementation of our peaceful policy for progress and prosperity on a global scale.
