The Turkmenistan national tennis team has advanced to the Davis Cup Playoffs of the Asia/Oceania Zone Group V. The tournament is taking place in Isa Town, Bahrain, with 14 teams participating. Turkmenistan won Group C, beating the hosts, Bahrain, The Golden age electronic newspaper reports.

In the decisive match against the hosts, the Turkmen athletes demonstrated a remarkable performance, winning 3-0. In the singles matches, Selim Chagylov and Allanur Dayanjov defeated their opponents and in the doubles match, Meylis Orazmuhammedov and Yuri Rogusskiy confidently defeated the Bahraini pair.

This means the head-to-head record between the men's teams of Turkmenistan and Bahrain now stands at 4-2 in favor of the Turkmen tennis players.

In the playoffs, the Turkmen team will face the winner of Group B, Guam. The winners of the playoff matches will qualify for the 2026 Asia/Oceania Zone Group IV.

Turkmenistan has been participating in the Davis Cup since 2004. Their best result was achieved in 2015, when the team advanced to the playoffs of the Asia/Oceania Zone Group III.
