Meylis Annaberdiyev, 39-year-old International Grandmaster from Turkmenistan, won the silver medal at an international chess tournament held in Cappadocia, Turkey, The Golden age electronic newspaper reports.
The competition was held using a 9-round Swiss system and brought together 78 chess players from 10 countries, including 3 international grandmasters, 10 international masters, and 11 FIDE masters.
Meylis took second place with a score of 6.5 points, losing first place to Iranian international master Seyed Kian Poormosavi. The third prize went to international master Diego Rodri Flores Quillas from Peru.
