Improving the national education system, ensuring that the younger generation grows up physically healthy, spiritually mature, and receives modern education is one of the key priorities of our country. Each year, the number of students pursuing education steadily increases. State-level efforts and implemented reforms aimed at youth development are yielding remarkable results. Our young people, eager to learn, acquire skills, and work, participate in international competitions and achieve prize-winning positions, earning gold, silver, and bronze medals.
At the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, the selection of talented youth for the 2025–2026 academic year has been successfully completed. Career guidance activities carried out during the academic year created broad opportunities to identify the abilities of young people from different parts of the country.
In April, within the framework of the Year of International Peace and Trust, the institute hosted a sports week titled “Talented Youth – A New Generation of Athletes,” which became an important testing ground for young athletes. This large-scale event included competitions in general physical training, speed and strength exercises, as well as various games and wrestling disciplines. As a result, the participants’ diverse talents, enthusiasm for sports, and level of preparation were thoroughly evaluated.
Nearly 600 students and athletes from all regions of the country took part in the sports week. The use of a modern QR-code registration system demonstrated the high level of event organization. It was especially gratifying to see many participants with outstanding achievements at international, national, and regional competitions.
Based on the results of the competitions, several athletes with excellent performance earned the privilege of becoming students in the 2025–2026 academic year. Their achievements in international tournaments, Turkmenistan championships, national cups, and performances as members of national teams were also taken into account, providing significant advantages in admission. In accordance with the regulations proposed by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, capable and well-prepared graduates successfully passed the entrance examinations.
As a result, among those admitted to the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports are:
- 1 athlete with the title of International Master of Sports;
- 34 candidates for Master of Sports;
- 43 winners of international competitions;
- 149 winners of national competitions;
- 146 winners of regional competitions.
In addition, 194 young athletes are members of the national teams of our country. The newly admitted students also include graduates of 33 sports schools and representatives of leading sports teams. There is strong confidence that other athletes will achieve great success in their chosen fields as well.
It is a matter of pride that such talented young people, identified through the successful implementation of Turkmenistan’s sports policy, will make a worthy contribution to enhancing our country’s prestige on the international sports arena.
Under the state policy pursued by our esteemed President during the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, special attention is given to nurturing a generation that is well-educated, broad-minded, talented, loyal to the Homeland and the people, spiritually strong, ambitious, capable of mastering modern innovative technologies, and becoming highly skilled professionals.
