Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, recognized in the world as a sports country, has repeatedly successfully held major international competitions at a high organizational level. The V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the Amul-Khazar 2018 International Rally, the World Weightlifting and Kurash Championships, as well as other major international tournaments in which Turkmen athletes have achieved great success, became vivid evidence of this.

These competitions also became a vivid demonstration that our country, which is a member of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia, makes a significant contribution to the development of the international Olympic movement and cooperation for the sake of peace and friendship.

In a few days, beautiful Ashgabat will host the participants of the international chess tournament among athletes aged 8, 10 and 12. It is expected that more than 130 chess players from 13 countries will take part in it. This international tournament, which will be held from June 15 to 19 at the Specialized School of Chess and Checkers of the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the capital, will be another evidence that Turkmenistan is a sporting country.
