Arkadag football players won the Super Cup of Turkmenistan. The team achieved this success by defeating Ahal – 3:1 in the decisive match at the Sport Toplumy stadium in Balkanabat.

In the 14th minute Shamammet Hydyrov put Arkadag ahead – 1:0. In the 22nd minute Shanazar Tirkishov scored the second goal. In the 29th minute Hydyrov scored a double, and the teams went to the break with the score 3:0 in favor of Arkadag.

In the 75th minute Ahal player Islam Annamuradov scored one goal, which turned out to be the 60th in the competition for the Super Cup of Turkmenistan.

Football club Arkadag was founded in 2023 and already in the year of its debut made a double won the championship and the Cup of the country. It is noteworthy that since its foundation, this team has not lost a single point in official matches of the national championship and this year for the second time became the champion of Turkmenistan. And now it has won the third-ranking national trophy.

FC Arkadag was led to this success as a head coach by the 44-year-old famous former striker of the Turkmenistan national team Vladimir Bayramov. Under his leadership the team played 35 matches this year, including 29 in the top league of the Turkmenistan Championship, 2 in the Turkmenistan Cup, 1 in the Super Cup and 3 in the AFC Challenge League™.

Let us recall that in the third most important club tournament in Asia – the AFC Challenge League™, FC Arkadag took first place in Group B, in which Al Arabi SC of Kuwait, Maziya Sports & Recreation from Maldives and FC Abdysh-Ata of Kyrgyz Republic were also fighting for a place in the quarterfinals. Arkadag’s rival in the fight for a place in the semifinals will be the Indian club East Bengal. The matches between these teams will be held on March 5 and 12, 2025 in the home and away format.
