At the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS, which was successfully held in May 2024 in our country, Ashgabat was declared the "City of New Sporting Opportunities of the Commonwealth." Additionally, during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution "United Nations Games" was adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan and with the unanimous support of UN member states. This is a testament to the high recognition of the efforts made to develop sports in independent Turkmenistan.
On November 2, in the year of "The Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy," mass events took place on the Health Path with the participation of the esteemed President. As part of these events, a race was organized on the Health Path. Representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign countries, international organizations, employees of ministries and sectoral departments, as well as students of higher educational institutions, took part in the competition. The competition judges determined the winners, who were awarded commemorative gifts. Thus:
In the competition among representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations, held on the Health Path, the 1st place was taken by the Deputy Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan, Vadim Yakovlev, with a result of 46.49 seconds. The 2nd place went to the Head of the Representative Office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Turkmenistan, Livni Erik, who showed a result of 51.00 seconds. The 3rd place was awarded to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan, Stephen Austin Conlon, who finished in 51.10 seconds.
In the competition among employees of ministries and sectoral departments, the victory was claimed by an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, Perkhat Annagulyjov, with a result of 34.21 seconds. The 2nd place was taken by a serviceman of the Central Military Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, Serdar Saparov, with a result of 36.09 seconds. The 3rd place went to an employee of a military unit of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan, Parakhat Kakaev, who showed a result of 42.09 seconds.
In the competition among university students, the 1st place was taken by a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, Yunus Tuvaklyev, who completed the distance in 35.01 seconds. The 2nd place was taken by a student of the Turkmen International University of Oil and Gas, Pena Babanyazov, with a result of 35.02 seconds. The 3rd place was awarded to a student of the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, Dovletgeldi Bayramov, who showed a result of 35.36 seconds.
