Today at the Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport a welcoming ceremony was held for the sports delegation of Turkmenistan, which arrived to participate in the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games. The event was attended by the heads of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, the National Olympic Committee, senior officials of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the French Republic, representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Paris Olympics, as well as volunteers.

A long line of volunteers with the green flag of Turkmenistan greeted our Olympians, evoking a feeling of pride. The meeting of girls in national costumes with bread and salt was a sign of great respect for the traditions of the Turkmen people in distant France.

Then the athletes and coaches of the sports delegation of Turkmenistan arrived at the Olympic Village, where they will live and train.

Athletes of Turkmenistan participate in the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in 4 sports – weightlifting, judo, athletics and swimming. The official opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics will take place on July 26.
