The sports base of the popular Georgian ski resort Bakuriani has been chosen as the location for the training camp of Turkmen weightlifters. Under the direction of famous Chinese specialist Lin Shoufeng the Turkmenistan team of 8 athletes will prepare for international competitions here until 20 June.

The following members of our team have gone to the Georgia training camp: masters of sports Seyitjan Mirzayev, Bunyad Rashidov, Bektimur Reyimov, Gaygysyz Torayev, Shahzadbek Matyakubov, Davranbek Hasanbayev, Anamjan Rustamova and first-class athlete Asal Kerimbayeva.

Bronze medalist of the 1991 Junior World Championship, 1996 Olympics participant in Atlanta Lin Shoufeng has worked with our athletes as the senior coach of the national team of Turkmenistan since autumn last year. Under his direction the Turkmen weightlifters have won several medals of various denominations at the Grand Prix II international tournament in Doha (Qatar) in December 2023, at the Asian Championship in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in February 2024 and at the World Cup in Phuket (Thailand) in April this year.

At the training camp in Georgia Chinese specialist Lin Shoufeng works with our weightlifters in tandem with the head coach of the national team of Turkmenistan Mansur Redjepov.
