The Turkmenistan Table Tennis Championships took place in the Ashgabat Olympic Town. 120 athletes from all the regions of Turkmenistan performed in the tournament.

The team event was marked by the dominance of Ashgabat teams who won the gold and silver medals in the men’s and women’s  tournaments. The team from Mary velayat ranked third in the men’s tournament, and the team from Lebap velayat ranked third in the women’s tournament.

The Ashgabat team occupied the whole podium in the men’s singles of the Turkmenistan Table Tennis Championships.

Chairman of the Table Tennis Federation Agamurad Allanazarov noted that such competition held on an ongoing basis contributes to the development and professional growth of athletes.

The tournament was organised by the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, the Table Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and the Ashgabat Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports.
