The matches of the two-leg supreme league of the Chess Championships of Turkmenistan concluded. The country's strongest chess players competed in single events. Allayar Shirliyev, a conscript of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan, scored 11.5 points out of 14 and won the men’s event. Amanmuhammet Hommadov from Ashgabat took the second place, and Vepaly Halynyyazov, a student at Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, entered the top three.
Meryem Agajanova triumphed in the women’s event with 12 points. Lala Shohradova, a representative of Danev Etrap, became the runner-up with 11 points, while her sister Leyla took the third place.
The Championships of Turkmenistan are of great importance for the members of the national teams who will take part in the 45th Chess Olympiad, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary.
