The World Junior Ice Hockey Championship Division III, Group B, which took place on March 4-8, finished in Cape Town (South Africa).
The Turkmenistan team led by an experienced coach Guvanchmyrat Jepbarov won a silver medal.
Together with our team, the teams from South Africa, Thailand and Hong Kong performed in Group B.
The Turkmen hockey players gained a crushing victory 7-2 over the Thailand team. Serdar Durdyev from the Turkmenistan team scored 4 goals, Elman Isaev, Perman Shamuhammedov and Shokhrat Begliev scored one goal each.
Our team defeated 6-2 the hosts of the tournament, South Africa. The Turkmen team misfired only once in the match with Hong Kong (3-8). Hong Kong won the gold medal, and Thailand won the bronze medal.
Iskenderkhan Durdyev and Serdar Durdyev team are the best shooters of the Turkmenistan. Each of them scored 4 goals.
