The U20 Championship of Turkmenistan in the Turkmen national game of takylatdy has been recently held at the Specialized Chess and Checkers School of the Ashgabat Main Department on Physical Culture and Sports. The athletes from Lebap, Dashoguz, Ahal Velayats and the Turkmen capital took part in the Championship. The disciples of Yazbike Ovezova, a coach of the Specialized Chess and Checkers School, successfully competed in the tournament.

The players had 20 minutes for each match at the tournament, and the time was told by an electronic clock. The opponents took part in 11 rounds of the competition.

Thus, Orazmyrat Atayev, a representative of the Ashgabat specialized secondary school 132, scored 10 points and won the first place. Muhammet Rejepov, a representative of the Ashgabat specialized school 130, scored the same number of points as the winner, but took the second place according to additional indicators. Resul Gundogdyev, a representative of the Ashgabat specialized secondary school 28, had 9 points and entered the top three.

Gulyalek Shamuhammedova, a representative of the Ashgabat specialized secondary school 68, triumphed in the women’s event. Niginabonu Charyeva, a representative of the secondary school 9 in Turkmenabat, Lebap Velayat, took the second place, and Yazgul Arazova, a representative of Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, entered the top three.

The medallists of the tournament received medals and the letters of honour on behalf of the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, as well as the gifts from Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan. The youngest athletes of the Championship were awarded the letters of honour from the Centre for National Sports.
