A FIFA referee Resul Mamedov is the first Turkmen referee to take part in the training course on the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system, which was held in Tashkent.
A group of international referees improved their professional skills, learning from experienced instructors, as part of consultations between FIFA and the Football Association of Uzbekistan.
Resul Mamedov says referees who do not have the VAR certificate will not be qualified to oversee international matches since this season.
Upon completing the training course, each of the referees participated in two football matches using the VAR system. The training participants who had passed the exams received the certificates.
