The U8, 10&12 Chess Championships of Turkmenistan have been recently held at the Specialized Chess and Checkers School of the Ashgabat Main Department on Physical Culture and Sports. 310 athletes took part in the tournament, which consisted of classical chess, rapid and blitz.
Charyhekim Charyev (Ashgabat) won 1 gold and 2 silver medals, Halilmuhammet Charyev (Ashgabat) earned 1 gold medal and 1 bronze medal in the U8 boys’ event. Aylar Hemrayeva (Mary Velayat) won 2 gold medals, and Gunesh Bayramova (Lebap Velayat) received 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal in the U8 girls’ event. Mahmud Meredov (Ashgabat) won 1 gold medal and 1 silver medal, and Nazar Narimanov (Lebap Velayat) won 1 gold medal and 1 bronze medal in the U10 boys’ event. Aya Bayramova (Lebap Velayat) received 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal, and Dunya Ruslanova (Lebap Velayat) earned 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals in the U10 girls’ event. Rauf Yusupov (Mary Velayat) won 1 gold medal and 1 bronze medal, and Alihan Batyrov (Mary Velayat) received 3 silver medals in the U12 boys’ event. Nebahat Muradova (Lebap Velayat) won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal, and Nurhan Babanazarova (Lebap Velayat) earned 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal in the U12 girls’ event.
Thus, the representatives of Lebap Velayat won the first place, the chess players of Ashgabat took the second place, and the athletes of Mary Velayat entered the top three in the team event.
The Men’s Championship of Turkmenistan (first league) will be held on February 18–25. The Men’s and Women’s Championships of Turkmenistan (supreme league) will be organized on March 3–17.
