The Turkmenistan sambo team (consisting of 37 athletes and 5 coaches) successfully performed at the President’s Cup, which took place in Belarus from February 7 to 10.

A member of the national team, Agasapar Muhadov (88 kg) won the champion title and a gold medal in the combat sambo event.

Suvhan Ovezgeldyev (98 kg) won the champion title and a gold medal in the combat sambo event.

Bezirgen Begenjov (98 kg) ranked second and won a silver medal.

Babamurad Bayramov (58 kg) ranked third and won a bronze medal in the sambo event.

Niyazmyrad Babekov (64 kg) took third place and won a bronze medal in the sambo event.

Byagul Nuryeva (50 kg) took third place and won a bronze medal in the sambo event.

Aziza Nazarova (50 kg) reached the final and won a silver medal in the sambo event.

In total, 280 athletes from 10 countries took part in the President’s Cup.
