Athletes of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of the XXXI World Summer Universiade in Chengdu. The Universiade in Chengdu was opened at the stadium in Donganhu Sports Park. The games will last until August 8 and will be held at 49 sports arenas.
This is the largest student competition, which is comparable to the Olympic Games. More than 5,000 students from 120 countries participate in the Universiade, competing in 18 sports.
Representatives of Turkmenistan's student sports will compete in athletics, wushu, swimming and judo and will do their best for a decent performance. This is the fourth time that Turkmenistan has sent its representatives to the World Student Games.
Turkmenistan has been a member of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) since 2012.
