As is known, the national team of Turkmenistan achieved the first results at the ITF Asia 14&U Development Championships, held in Isa Town, the Kingdom of Bahrain. One of those results was achieved by our compatriot Ilima Guseynova, who defeated the tennis players from the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan in the first rounds of the tournament and reached the final. In the decisive match, the athlete from Turkmenistan lost to her opponent and took the second place. Imran Ahundov and Selim Chagylov successfully went through the road to the final in pairs. However, our talented athletes lost to their opponents in the final and finished the competitions on the second place.

The players from Turkmenistan successfully started the second round of the international tournament. All our compatriots won their first matches. Moreover, it should be noted that Ilima Guseynova achieved the biggest success. Two athletes from Turkmenistan took part in the match for the third place in the women’s single event. Ilima Guseynova, a 7-grader from the Ashgabat specialized secondary school 42, met Natalya Martynova, an 8-grader from the Ashgabat secondary school 32. Ilima won 2-0 and took the third place.
