These days, the athletes from Turkmenistan take part in the ITF Asia 14&U Development Championships, held in Isa Town, the Kingdom of Bahrain. Four Turkmen tennis players struggle for victory in the competitions. 56 athletes from 14 countries compete in the tournament.

The good news from the competitions demonstrates the long path of new achievements in 2023. Ilima Guseynova, a representative of Turkmenistan, reached the final of the tournament. She defeated the Kyrgyz and Uzbek athletes on her way to the final. On January 12, our talented compatriot played the final match, lost to the Uzbek athlete and took the second place in this event.

Imran Ahundov and Selim Chagylov, the representatives of the national team of Turkmenistan, played in the men’s doubles final of this international tournament. Our compatriots lost the final to the Uzbek athletes and won the second place.

To date, our compatriots are looking forward the next round of the regional tournament.
