The Open Weightlifting Championships has been recently organized by the Olimp secondary sports school and the Young Olympians school of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan for the athletes born in 2005–2009. The interesting tournament included 9 weight class events. A number of young promising weightlifters competed in the Championships.
Atabek Azamatov, an athlete from the Olimp secondary sports school, demonstrated the best result in the 38-kilogramme weight class event. Resul Gaylyev, a representative of the same school, lifted the heaviest weight in the 41-kilogramme weight class event. Dawut Kakageldiyev, an athlete from the Young Olympians school, had no equals in the 49-kilogramme weight class event. In the 55-kilogramme weight class event, Shatlyk Gurbanmyradov, a weightlifter from the Young Olympians boarding school of Ahal Velayat, won the victory. Perhat Bagtyyarov, an athlete from the Olimp secondary sports school, who had successfully competed in the international junior tournaments, triumphed in the 61-kilogramme weight class event. In the 67-kilogramme weight class event, Yusup Garahanov, a representative of the same school, reached the top of the podium. Nowruz Allabergenov, a weightlifter from the Young Olympians school, had no equals in the 73-kilogramme weight class event. Soltan Jafarov, an athlete from the Olimp secondary sports school, won the victory in the 81-kilogramme weight class event. Batyr Arazov, a representative of the Ashgabat sports school 6, triumphed in the 89-kilogramme weight class event.
The winners were awarded the letters of honour and gifts from the Bagtyyarlyk Etrap Council of Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan. The award ceremony provoked the pride of athletes and inspired them to make new achievements.
