President of Turkmenistan chairs Halk Maslakhaty in Ashgabat

On September 23, 2022, Halk Maslakhaty (People’s Council), dedicated to the 31st anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was held at the Rukhyet Palace in the capital. The agenda of the national forum that has become a significant event in the life of the Fatherland focused on the results achieved over the past period and the priority tasks of the further development of the country.

In the morning, the President arrived at the Rukhyet Palace, where the participants of Halk Maslakhaty from Ashgabat and all the regions of the country had gathered. The participants from Akhal velayat joined the national forum via videoconference from Türkmeniň ak öýi and the participants from Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats from the Rukhyet Palaces in Turkmenbashi, Dashoguz, Turkmenabat and Mary.

Addressing the audience and compatriots, the President noted that in the year of the Era of the People with Arkadag, Halk Maslakhaty is taking place during the celebrations of the 31st anniversary of independence of the Fatherland. The members of the Government and Milli Gengesh, the heads of ministries, departments, political parties and public associations, khyakims of velayats, etraps and cities, the members of Halk Maslahaty, numerous employees of institutions and enterprises, venerable elders, esteemed mothers and young people attended the forum.

The President of Turkmenistan declared Halk Maslakhaty open in a solemn atmosphere. The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was played and taken up in unison by the participants of the national forum.

The President heartily congratulated the audience and the people of the country on Halk Maslakhaty and Independence Day and addressed his best wishes.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave the floor to the participants of Halk Maslakhaty.

Addressing the participants of Halk Maslakhaty, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that following the good tradition, citizens convicted of criminal offences who have sincerely repented of their deeds are pardoned on the eve of the main national holidays in our Fatherland in accordance with the principles of mercy and humanism of our great ancestors.

The floor was given to Chairman of the Commission for Citizenship and Pardon under the President of Turkmenistan B. Gundogdyev, who reported on the work done.

To the applause of the audience, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree authorising to grant a pardon to 829 citizens of Turkmenistan and 4 citizens of foreign countries to mark the 31st anniversary of independence.

Noting that every citizen of our country makes a worthy contribution to the achievements of the Fatherland, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov informed of his decision to award state awards to the compatriots who had gained outstanding labour achievements in honour of the 31st anniversary of sacred independence of the Fatherland and signed the relevant documents.

In a solemn atmosphere, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov presents the badges and certificates to the elders who received the title of Türkmenistanyn Hormatly il ýaşulusy and the awards to the esteemed mothers who received the Zenan Kalby Order.

Congratulating once again the awardees on this significant event in their lives, the President addressed the audience with the closing remarks.

The President heartily congratulated the participants of the national forum and the people of the country on the upcoming holiday and wished them good health, a happy and prosperous life and every success in their work.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov declared Halk Maslakhaty closed. The majestic melody of the National Anthem of Turkmenistan soared up under the dome of the Rukhyet Palace.

This day will go down in history of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state as a vivid symbol of the indissoluble unity and solidarity of our people and the firm commitment of independent neutral Turkmenistan to the chosen path of peace, creativity and progress.
