The other day in Ashgabat, in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, the championship of the country in cycling on the highway ended. The tournament was organized by the Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of our Turkmenistan.
For four days, six dozen cyclists from Akhal, Dashoguz, Mary, Lebap velayats and Ashgabat competed in two age categories. The program included four separate disciplines - individual, pair and team time trials, as well as group, in which the winner was determined by the number of points scored in the intermediate and final stages.
In the age category from 2006 to 2008 among boys, A. Yusupov won, and among girls A. Dovletova from Dashoguz. E. Rejepnurov showed the best result among cyclists born in 2009-2013 among young men. In girls, S. Abakumova became the strongest. Both athletes are from Ashgabat.
Many participants tried their skills for the first time in competitions of this level.
As a result of the competition, the winners were awarded medals, certificates and memorable prizes.
