The Turkmen athletes demonstrate excellent results at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, the Republic of Turkey. As is known, Yulduz Jumabaeva, a member of the weightlifting team of Turkmenistan, achieved success at the Games.

The welcoming news from Konya is related to the victory of Kristina Shermetova, a coach at the sports school 6 of the Ashgabat Main Department on Sports and Youth Policy. Our compatriot won three medals in the 55-kilogramme weight class event. Kristina earned a gold medal in snatch with a result of 89 kilogrammes. She won a silver medal in clean and jerk with a weight of 105 kilogrammes. The result of 194 kilogrammes in total brought her a silver medal of the Games.
