The children from Turkmenistan achieved excellent results at the 7th Children of Asia Games in Vladivostok. The national team of Turkmenistan won 16 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, and 11 bronze medals) at the international sports festival. Our compatriots earned 2 medals in the athletics events (3000-metre – a gold medal and 1500-metre – a bronze medal), 4 medals in the freestyle wrestling events (1 gold and 3 bronze medals), a bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling event, a bronze medal in the sambo event, a silver medal in the table tennis event and 7 medals (2 silver and 5 bronze medals) in the kurash wrestling events. The Turkmen team took the 10th place in the team standing. This result is a great success for the children and teenagers from Turkmenistan.
Thus, Sabina Kasymjanova won a gold medal in the 3000-metre event and a bronze medal in the 1500-metre event for the Turkmen team. Umyt Kakalyev, a 10-grader of the Olimp secondary sports school, won another gold medal in the freestyle wrestling event (57 kg).
Ylyas Allanazarov and Alibek Jumanov took the second place in the doubles table tennis event. Aly Sytdyev won a bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling event (62 kg). Selbi Zahirova earned a bronze medal in the freestyle wrestling event (50 kg). The number of bronze medals of the Turkmen children in the freestyle wrestling was increased with the success of Sohbet Nuryev (38 kg) and Mekan Hudayberdiyev (62 kg). Nurana Hezretova won a bronze medal in the sambo event (65 kg).
On the final days of the 7th Children of Asia Games in Vladivostok, the Turkmen athletes took part in the kurash wrestling events. Sanjar Buriyev won a silver medal in the 42-kilogramme weight class event. Zinat Kochmatova earned a silver medal in the 44-kilogramme weight class event. Nurana Hezretova won a bronze medal in the 63-kilogramme weight class event.
Dinislam Mahmasharifov entered the top three in the 50-kilogramme weight class event. Seyitnazar Hudayberdiyev brought another bronze medal for the national team of Turkmenistan in the 60-kilogramme weight class event. Narmurat Muradov took the third step on the podium in the 71-kilogramme weight class event. Dayanch Karaev competed in the 83-kilogramme weight class event and won a bronze medal.
