A regular meeting of the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan was held at the Sports Hotel in the Olympic Village. The meeting was attended by the members of the National Olympic Committee, representatives of the national sports federations, sports experts, coaches and the students of Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports. The event demonstrated the country's commitment to the principles of the Olympic movement.

A wonderful exhibition highlighted the achievements of the Turkmen sport at the conference hall of the Hotel. The performances of bagshies complemented the festivities.

The work of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan in 2016–2021 was discussed at the regular meeting of the General Assembly of the NOC.

The President of Turkmenistan, Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been nominated for the presidency of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan and has been unanimously elected President of the NOC of Turkmenistan.

The First Vice-President and Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee were also elected at the meeting. Minister of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan and general manager of the Aýdyň Gijeler Company were chosen the Committee’s First Vice-President and Vice-President respectively.

The heads of the national sports federations and several athletes made speeches at the meeting. They congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the election to the position of President of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan.

At the end of the meeting of the General Assembly of NOC, its participants adopted an Address to the President of Turkmenistan, President of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
