The 134th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) took the decision on the inclusion of new sports – breaking, surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing in the programme of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris (France), the IOC official website reports.

IOC President Thomas Bach said that this decision offered the opportunity to connect with the younger generation.

Sport climbing, surfing and skateboarding have been included as additional sports for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.  

A final decision on the sports’ inclusion in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games programme will be made in December 2020.
