The first performance of our compatriots at the World Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan started on December 8. The same day, our athlete Yulduz Jumabaeva competed in the 49-kilogramme weight class event in Group A. The competition brought together 11 world's best women athletes. In the second attempt in snatch, our talented weightlifter lifted 76 kilogrammes. The result of Yulduz bid for a bronze medal of the World Weightlifting Championships. She finished third behind the weightlifters from Thailand and Japan, Surodchana Khambao (86 kg) and Rira Suzuki (78 kg) respectively.
The attempts of our compatriot, who tried to lift 100 and 101 kilogrammes in clean and jerk, failed.
On December 9, our compatriots followed the performance of our weightlifter Seyitjan Mirzayev. He competed in the 61-kilogramme weight class event and tried to win a bronze medal. He lifted 128 kilogrammes in snatch. Our weightlifter lifted this weight in the second attempt and was inferior to Shota Mishvelidze (131 kg) and Rok Shin (132 kg).
In clean and jerk, Seyitjan Mirzayev tried to lift 145 and 147 kilogrammes.
