Alekper Akhmedov - the winner of the second stage of the Turkmenistan Skyruning Cup

The second stage of the Skyranning Cup of the country finished with a race to the top of Dushak-Erigdag mountain (2448 meters). The altitude difference at a distance was 2 thousand meters. About 50 athletes, including pupils from secondary schools, students, and lovers of mountain travel, said they wanted to test their strength in climbing the ridge of a mountain range. For the second year in a row, students and coaches of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism - Batyr Amadov, Gozel Ataeva and Alena Durova took part in competitions organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan and the Al-Agama Mountaineering Club.

The course of the high-altitude race was divided into three stages. At elevations of 1100, 2000 meters and at the top of the mountain, members of the panel of judges fixed the time of the distance. The youngest participants finished in the first stage. More experienced allowed to further ascent, if the participant fit into the standard.

Eleven athletes managed to climb to the top. They played prizes. The best time in the high-altitude race was shown by the master of sports, repeated winner of the cup competitions Alekper Akhmedov. He ran up to the top of Dushak in 2 hours14 minutes. Atageldy Amanov was 14 minutes behind the leader, the third and fourth places were taken by Arslan Annamamedov and Sergey Arkhipov, respectively. Alan Abaev, 12, despite his young age, climbed to a height of 2,448 meters in 3 hours and 33 minutes. In women, an experienced Anastasia Loskareva celebrated her victory. She spent at the distance of 2 hours and 54 minutes.

The third stage of the skyrunning competition 2019 will be held in the autumn at the top of the Harlasang.
