Tokyo launches ‘100 Days to Olympics’ countdown

The ceremony marking 100 days to go until the opening of the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games took place in Tokyo, TASS reports. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike says all measures have been taken to «have the great Olympics». To mark the occasion, the figurines of the Olympic and Paralympic Games mascots Miraitowa and Someity were installed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building where the ceremony took place.

The Olympic symbol of five rings featuring the intertwined blue, yellow, black, green and red rings was installed at the summit of Mount Takao in the suburbs of Tokyo.

Currently, Japan is hosting the Olympic Torch Relay, which started in Fukushima Prefecture four months before the Olympic Games.

The Olympic Games is scheduled to start on July 23.
