Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President of the Asian Olympic Council (OCA), believes that the initiative to create a series of documentaries about the Asian Games will be a «valuable legacy» for the entire continent.
So, the plan to create a documentary film series was announced at the countdown ceremony to the beginning of the XIX Asian Games, which will be held from September 10 to 25, 2022 in Hangzhou (PRC).
The film, titled «Hello Asian Games,» will focus on the evolution and development of the Asian Games since their start in 1951, as well as the host cities, their history and culture.
«This documentary will allow the people of Asia to learn a lot about the Asian Games, to participate in the promotion of the sports movement on our continent. The film will undoubtedly help foster mutual understanding and solidarity between Asian countries,» the president said, adding that the Asian Olympic Council will provide all the necessary support to the production of sports documentaries..
With the support of the OCA and the Chinese Olympic Committee, the organizers of the Hangzhou Games plan to release four to five documentaries ranging from 40 to 50 minutes in the spring of 2022.
The Asian Olympic Council calls on all 45 national Olympic committees participating in the Games to contribute to the content of this documentary.
