Billiard Sports, also known as cue sports, are a wide variety of games generally played with a cue stick on a cloth-covered billiard table. The cue is used to strike balls and thereby causes the balls to move around the table. 

All cue sports are generally regarded to have evolved into indoor games from outdoor stick and ball lawn games. King Louis XI of France, who reigned from 1461–1483 had the first known indoor billiard table. Billiards is often mentioned in the works of William Shakespeare, and had many famous enthusiasts such as Mozart, Immanuel Kant, Napoleon, Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain, George Washington, Charles Dickens and Lewis Carroll.
