Today, in honor of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's sacred independence, celebrations were held at the modernized Ashgabat Equestrian Complex, attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, The TDH reports.
A total of seven races of various distances were held.
In the opening 1,600-meter race, the bay horse Babadash, owned by the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, finished first with third-category rider M.Agamyradov, finishing the distance in 1 minute 51.3 seconds.
In the second 1,600-meter race, the black horse Gelezhek, owned by the Ashgabat City Administration, finished first in 1 minute 51.7 seconds. Master Jockey O.Yalkabov.
In the third 1,600-meter race, the best result (1 minute 50 seconds) was achieved by the bay horse Khazyna, owned by the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan and ridden by D.Atdayev.
The remaining races, held to commemorate the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, were contested by horses aged four years and older.
The leader of the fourth 1,600-meter race was the bay horse Dovamat, owned by the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, with a time of 1 minute 48.2 seconds, ridden by jockey B.Babayev.
In the fifth race of the festive horse races over the same distance, the black stallion Garayol, owned by the Ashgabat City Hall, and ridden by master jockey R.Seidov, finished first in 1 minute 48.7 seconds.
In the sixth race, the 2200-meter race, the bay stallion Gudratlydag, owned by the Forestry State Enterprise of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and ridden by jockey D.Berdimammedov, took the lead with a time of 2 minutes 33 seconds.
In the final, seventh race over the same distance, the contest was for the grand prize established by the President of Turkmenistan. The bay stallion Bezirgen, owned by the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, finished first with a time of 2 minutes 34.5 seconds. Master jockey B.Agamyradov.
Then came the awards ceremony for the winners.
Expressing their deep gratitude to the head of state and Hero Arkadag for their utmost commitment to promoting and developing equestrian sports in the country, the participants assured that they would continue to exert every effort and skill to enhance the worldwide fame of these «paradise» horses.
